Great War portrait photos

Photos provided by George Esson and added recently to the South Ronaldsay page of the Memorials section include one of Arabella Mathieson, taken from the ID card she was issued when started working in the huge munitions factory at Gretna in 1917.  A dozen new photos added to the Hoy page include those of the four Mowat brothers of Rackwick.  John was killed fighting in Flanders with the Canadians in 1916, while William died in the 1918 Second Battle of the Marne when serving in the Seaforths.  Direct link to the Hoy page given below.
