Kirkwall Soldier's Flanders Grave

John Sutherland this week visited the grave of John Marwick in Flanders and his photo has been added to the Kirkwall section of the website, see link below.  John Marwick worked in the Kirkwall shop of William Shearer, before enlisted in the Royal Scots under the Derby Scheme in November 1915.  He was badly wounded during the Battle of the Somme, but had rejoined his battalion only to be accidently shot dead in camp before it joined the final phase of the Battle of Passchendaele in October 1917.
