Flanders Indian Memorial

During World War 2 many Orcadian soldiers of the Highland Division and 226 HAA Battery served alongside soldiers of the Indian Army.  A new memorial to soldiers of the Indian Army who served in Flanders Fields during the Great War was officially unveiled in Ieper on 12th March.  See the link below for photos of the new memorial and a summary of the huge loss of life of the Indian Empire as a consequence of the two World Wars.
