Lyness Memorial commemoration gathering

The Hoy community played generous host today to visitors crossing Scapa Flow to pay tribute to those who died and served in the World War 2 Arctic Convoys.  The Russian Consul General to Scotland, Sergey Krutikov, had travelled from Edinburgh to join local service delegations in giving thanks for the efforts that sustained Russia in her long, grim struggle to defeat the German invasion and helped bring victory to the Allies.  Photos of the Lyness commemoration service by Norman Logie and Craig Taylor and details of the event can be seen using the link below.
