9257 Private Robert Harcus of Eday death centenary

Robert Harcus of Eday joined the famous Royal Scots Greys at age eighteen in 1911, but purchased a discharge in early 1914.  When the Great War started Robert re-enlisted in the Scots Greys and crossed to France with the regiment.  Robert had served 18 months on the Western Front, when was killed serving dismounted on 17th January 1916.  A Word biography of Robert's short life has been added to the Eday section of the website, while a pdf version can be downloaded direct using the link below.
