Dial-a-Bus  -  871515

From 8 am to 7 pm, 7 days a week, Dial-a-Bus offers accessible transport for people of all ages and abilities around the main island and the linked south isles. We also try to help folk in the other isles as well by transporting people between the planes and the ferries and by delivering Shopmobility equipment to the piers. (We can also take bookings after 7pm for more than 5 people).

Dial-a-Bus run three fully accessible minibuses 5 days a week and 1 minibus at weekends. Our drivers are very helpful and will ensure you reach your destination safely.

Anyone over 60 or with a disability or mobility problems that makes it difficult to access public transport is entitled to join Dial-a-Bus. We charge an annual membership and we take fares for each journey.

You may also be eligible for a concessionary travel Card from the Orkney Islands Council which gives you one free return journey a week.

The types of journey could be to the shops, to the doctor or dentist, to visit friends or if you are enrolled on a class - we are happy to help you get out and about and take part in the community.

We encourage people to contact the office between 9.00 am and 4.00 pm Monday to Friday on 01856 871515 or pop past our office at 18 Junction Road. It is only possible to fit you into our schedule if you call at least a day in advance - so please try to get in touch as soon as you know about your appointment.

We look forward to hearing from you - and hope we can help meet your accessible transport needs.

Our fares are reviewed every year. We have 4 fare zones, A-D. A-£3, B-£4.50, C-£6, D-£8.  (The areas can be identified on map that is available in our document library) These increase by £1 after 7pm at night.
