The OYDG bank balance has been boosted significantly thanks to the magnificent fundraising efforts of the Flotta workforce over the winter months. ohn Manson and Mike Stott representing the Flotta workforce presented a cheque for £686 to OYDG Chairman Dave Thomas. The Flotta workers have continued to raise funds for youth football for many years and their generosity is much appreciated by all at OYDG

The Under 12’s County Squad are sporting brand new training tops thanks to the financial support of a local garage. OYDG would like to thank Kevin Kirkness and Trevor Leslie at Bayview Garage for their very kind sponsorship which has allowed purchase of the new kit

 

We’re delighted to announce that Orkney Youth Development Group has been given a significant financial boost thanks to TSB. Thanks to the local branch of TSB adopting OYDG as their chosen charity/not for profit organisation for 2015 and the fundraising efforts of its staff, OYDG has benefitted to the tune of nearly £900

 

ORKNEY AGGREGATES PROVIDE UNDER 12 STRIPS

There was further good news for the Orkney footballers thanks to Orkney Aggregates with the provision of a further set of brand new strips for the Under 12 team which they proudly wore on Saturday 13 June 2015 in the Northern Counties competition  for the first time. OYDG would like to acknowledge the generosity of Roy and all at Orkney Aggregates for their continuing support of youth football in Orkney.

 

FLOTTA FOOTBALL FUNDRAISERS

OYDG coffers were boosted significantly thanks to the magnificent fundraising efforts of the Flotta workforce. John Manson presented a cheque for £1,000 on their behalf at Picky on 6 June 2015 OYDG Chairman, Stephen Crawford. The Flotta workers have continued to raise funds for youth football for many years and their generosity is much appreciated by OYDG.

 

TESCO BOOST CLUB FUNDS

We’re delighted to announce that Orkney Youth Development Group has been given a significant boost thanks to a donation of £600 from the Tesco Community Awards Scheme.

Chairman Stephen Crawford stated that he was very grateful to receive such a generous donation from Tesco’s Communty Awards Scheme and that OYDG would be keen to develop future links with Tesco.   “This donation will make a really positive impact on football development in the local community, helping to fund a wide range of youth football competitions and initiatives” he added.

Local Tesco Manager Stephen McEwan said “We're delighted to be donating this money to the Orkney Youth Development Group through our Community Awards Scheme. I've seen at first hand for several years now the fantastic work that the group does in Orkney and delighted that Tesco can in some way help support the group in the future”.

 

ORKNEY AGGREGATES PROVIDE NEW STRIP

Orkney's Under 12 footballers wore a brand new strip for the first time during the recent Northern Counties tournament. The new strip was provided by Orkney Aggregates and will be used by the Orkney Under 11's and Under 12's in 7-a-side competitions. OYDG would like to thank Roy Brown for his continuing sponsorship of youth football in Orkney.

 

FLOTTA FUNDRAISE FOR FOOTBALLERS

OYDG is grateful to the Flotta workforce for their fundraising efforts for youth football in Orkney. As well as donating a sum of money they also presented matchballs for Saturday's Select matches plus First Aid kits for the county teams.

ORKNEY AGGREGATES BOOST YOUTH FOOTBALL

OYDG is also grateful to Roy Brown and Orkney Aggregates for their continued support of youth football in Orkney. This year saw Orkney Aggregates continue and enhance their sponsorship allowing the publication of a souvenir match programme covering the Northern Counties 2013, the SYFA Central Region visit and the Under 12’s matches v Shetland.

This year saw the sponsors also provide a new trophy for the tournament. Reflecting the sponsors business it was highly appropriate that the new trophy is made out of Orkney flagstone. OYDG would like to thank Orkney Aggregates for their fantastic and continuing sponsorship of the Northern Counties.

Orkney's Under 15 footballers wore their brand new strips for the first time on their recent match against Caithness. The new strip was provided by local music store Grooves and OYDG would like to thank owner Neil Stevenson for his generous sponsorship.

Scottish Sea Farms ‘Heart of the Community’ Trust has donated £2,800 to Orkney Youth Football 

Orkney's youth footballers are the second community project to benefit from support from the Scottish Sea Farms Heart of The Community Trust. The Heart of the Community Trust aims to improve the lives of the local communities where Scottish Sea Farms operates.

This latest round of funding has gone to OYDG, and it is being used to provide an OYDG training top for each County squad member. All four County squads are being supported and they were presented with the new kit at a training session on Sunday 8 May at the Pickaquoy Centre, Kirkwall.

Jim Cormack, Chairman of OYDG, said: “The best young footballers in Orkney represent their County in these squads and being picked for the County is very prestigious for them. We are really grateful to Scottish Sea Farms for its support.”

Regional Production Manager for Scottish Sea Farms, Richard Darbyshire, said: “This donation will allow OYDG to provide a new training jacket to around 80 local boys and we are delighted to be able to offer our support to these talented young players. We are confident that the Heart of the Community Trust will make a big difference to lots of community groups in the months to come.”
