hi all! our last meeting was sparse in numbers, but rich
in laughter and learning... we are in the middle of 'the
wild duck', which like all of ibsen's later plays is dark
(as befits the first - in my opinion - 'modern'
playwright) but so full of insights into the human
character; a lot of the fun came from the differences
between the translations we were reading, which fell upon
us unexpectedly, thus lightening the atmosphere and
offering a new perspective. we hope you will be able to
come on friday at 10.30 am, and bring a friend, or request
a lift if that would be a help. lotsa best wishes from
diana and the indispensable (as i get more decrepit) robin
