Table Tennis, Pool, and Fitness on the Horizon

Table Tennis

The Egilsay Community Association is thrilled to report that the new table tennis facilities have been a resounding success! Since their installation, the tables have been used numerous times for friendly matches, social gatherings, and community bonding.

Just this month, the association hosted a lively pizza night where residents came together to enjoy a slice and engage in some friendly competitive table tennis. The event was a huge hit, with both seasoned players and newcomers alike showcasing their skills and having a fantastic time.

In addition to the pizza night, the community has also been taking advantage of the table tennis table and board games for more casual ad-hoc get-togethers, often accompanied by snacks and coffee. These informal sessions have proven to be a wonderful way for neighbors to connect, share stories, and forge new friendships.

Pool Table Adds to the Fun, Despite Some Challenges

The association's board, along with dedicated volunteers, has also set up a pool table in the community hall. While the table is not in perfect condition and is definitely not flat, the residents have been having a blast trying their hand at the game.

"It's been great to see the community come together and enjoy a friendly game of pool," said one board member. "Even with the table's interesting character, the residents have been embracing the challenge and making the most of it."

Looking Ahead: Integrating Fitness Equipment

The Egilsay Community Association is now exploring ways to further enhance the community hall by re-integrating some fitness equipment. The board is currently researching options and seeking input from residents to ensure that any new additions meet the needs and interests of the community.

"We're really excited about the prospect of bringing in some fitness equipment," said the association's secretary. "It would be a fantastic way to promote healthy living and provide another avenue for the community to come together and engage in physical activity."

It's good to see this kind of community development on Egilsay, set up in the way that enhances the life experience of the island residents.

Thank you so much, Prem - you're welcome any time to have a game of table tennis and to meet our friendly residents.
