Egilsay residents welcomed 27 visitors from Iceland who had come to Orkney to visit the sites from the Orkneyinga Saga.
Their trip to Egilsay took in a talk from their guide 'Magnus', a walk to the commemorative cairn and St Magnus Church before heading back to the community hall for a light lunch, coffee and cakes.
Many thanks to all who helped in the preparation of savouries, cakes, soup and homemade bread.
Our visitors truly appreciated our island's hospitality and Magnus will be bringing another group of 23 in two weeks time!!!
As we said farewell to our guests there was a definite feeling of friendships being forged with invitations to visit Iceland being extended to all.
Thank you for coming - it was a pleasure to meet you all.
Bless, bless
Until we meet again
