A penalty and a last minute goal saw the Under 13’s lose 2-0 in the inter-county fixture against Shetland for the JW Thomson Memorial Trophy played in Lerwick on Monday.
Orkney fell behind in the first half when Shetland were awarded and converted a penalty after a mistimed tackle in the box. Orkney rallied in the second half pushing forward constantly in search of an equaliser. A breakaway goal in the last minute clinched the match for Shetland. This was a disappointing result for Orkney after a brave second half performance in which they were unfortunate not to draw level before being caught out at the end of the match.
