St Andrews completed a clean sweep of the primary football competitions when St Andrews Dynamos won the Gilmour Shield with a narrow 1-0 win over Dounby A in the final played at KGS playing fields. Today’s victory followed on from St Andrews Hurricanes success in winning the indoor league and cup competitions during the indoor winter season. The winning goal was scored by Thorfinn Scott from close range in the first half of a close match between two evenly fought sides. Congratulations to Dynamos and well done to Dounby who put up another good performance to follow up their successful run indoors. Long standing sponsor Bob Gilmour presented the Shield to the winners and Lorna Penny representing the Orkney Fair Trade Group presented the two teams with fair trade footballs.
