Just a thought

On Friday Jesus is abused, beaten up, barbarously executed, and hastily laid in a borrowed tomb just before 6:00 p.m., in time for the beginning of the Jewish Sabbath.  Crucifixion was reserved for rebellious slaves and others who defied Roman rule.  The execution of Jesus was a public statement: ‘this is what we do to people who oppose us’.

Earth’s saddest day and gladdest day were just three days apart.

Yet we remember that Jesus didn’t say “I am finished.”  He said, “It is finished.”  He was just getting started.
