Just a thought
Things essential to remember about prayer:
1. God will not do for me what I can do for myself.
2. I do not think that it is right to pray for things. ... it is not part of prayer to ask for material things.
3. I do not think that prayer is ever evasion, that prayer saves us from having to face things which we do not want to face, and which are going to hurt if we face them.
4. Real prayer is simply being in the presence of God. ...I must go to him simply for himself.
