Monologue Workshops - sign up now!

Over the weekend of 9 to 11 October there is a fantastic, free, opportunity to work with Carole Williams, SCDA Drama Advisor via 2-hour online sessions exploring monologues. Carole has been coming up to Orkney (organised by the Orkney District - Scottish Community Drama Association) to deliver high-quality and fun drama workshops for a couple of years now and although she can't do it in person this year she has dedicated her time to providing the online sessions instead.

The info on the sessions is:
Carole will work with small groups of up to 6 participants in a 2 hour online session exploring monologues. Each person will work on their own piece and these can be chosen by participants or provided by Carole. There will be some preparation work required but there is no requirement to learn the monologue and anyone wishing to choose their own monologue will need to submit this to Carole in advance. Each person will need to be prepared to perform their monologue in the session and be redirected by Carole as part of the learning process.

There is also the option of participants sharing their monologues in a whole group online session but there is no obligation to participate as a performer: everyone who takes part will be able to attend this session but it will not be available to the public.

The sessions have been split:

  • Friday 9 October 6 - 8 pm Performing a Monologue - age range 12 - 18
  • Saturday 10 October 10 am - midday Performing a Monologue - age 18+
  • Sunday 11 October 10am - midday Performing a Monologue - age 18+
  • Sunday 11 October 2 - 4 pm Performing a Monologue Sharing Session - all ages

All SDC members are warmly invited (and encouraged!) to sign up to one of these sessions by emailing secretaryorkneyscda@gmail.com asap to avoid disappointment 🎭
