PHOTOGRAPHY GROUP 1 - SEPTEMBER

by Tim Wright - 18:00 on 19 September 2014

Nine of us met at a very foggy Olad's Summit and rapidly decided that a trip to the Woods was a waste of time(although Winkie was keen! ) .We retired to Hoxa tearoom and warmed up there .We then went to the Blacksmith's Shop in St Margaret's Hope where there was a wealth of photo opportunities. Finally, a trip to the Loft Gallery to see Ingrid Budge's intriguing photographic exhibition.(Later, at the Camera Club ,Ingrid gave a talk on her Photographic techniques and how she arrived at some of her images much to the interest of some of our members) .
"Rousay " produced a mass of photos from close ups of flowers in Trumland Gardens ,general views of the House and Gardens, bits of rust ,the waterfall ,woodland walks (with one member asleep on a bench. Too hard going for you Barbara ! ) a spectacular Cockerel, an ageing Blue Door and two different versions of the " Bikes for Hire" sign. Thanks for all your efforts on what was a lovely day out .
"Light " was thought to be a slightly difficult choice of theme for the monthly project but everyone came up trumps .Guiding lights, Oil Lamps , light through a waterfall, light through trees ,sunsets, night shots even leaping Dolphins were included and made a most impressive showing on the different interpretations of the theme. So really ,it wasn't such a difficult one after all ! Well done to all those who contributed and used their imaginations.
The next meeting is Wednesday 22nd October.I have emailed Keith Johnston about visiting his Met set up but have had no reply as yet. I will let you know nearer the time where and what the plan is for that day. In the meantime "Red " is the monthly project .
Keep clicking,
Tim
