Birdie Group - April 2018
by Jack Macinnes - 19:10 on 19 April 2018
A baker's dozen of intrepid birders assembled at Dingyshowe on Wednesday 18th. April and from there, dividing the transport proceeded to Ayre. It was a bright and breezy spring morning with excellent visibility. Good views of Copinsay and the Holms reminded certain of the party of previous adventures on the long causeway (Isle Rough).
Over the next three hours a good collection of sightings was made round Newark Bay, then via Mussaquoy onto the cliffs and eventual grateful descent back down to Dingyshowe. Everyone felt better for the exercise (and glad that once again vintage joints had held out).Jack
Note: a total of 35 species was recorded by Sally H during the walk and a linnet was spotted at the finish by Liz and Tom.
