u3a Photo Group One - August 2023

by Tim - 20:42 on 23 August 2023

A Bakers' dozen of us met at the St Nicholas Church today to view the Exhibition on the building of the Barriers. There are a great many detailed photos from the War time, in B+W, showing what an immense undertaking the construction was . The photos are all in order for each separate Barrier and show the gradual building over many months and years .The church also has some interesting ancient gravestones inside from the 1600 s too plus a vestry of more recent local history and photos . As the sun was shining some of us wandered around the graveyard and then onto the beach .A flock of Golden Plover were resting on the rocky spit while further along was a photogenic dingy and creels .

Then it was off to Celina Rupp's for Tea and cake while watching the antics of an aircraft on Lamb Holm . Finally off home via Graeme's Hall Loch where we spotted Lapwings and Coots among the Graylags and Swans .

The next meeting will be the Nairn trip at the end of September .

The next project is " In the Garden " so it can be yours ,someone else's, what every you like including weeds if you want .

Keep clicking, Tim.
