***OVER £300 RAISED FOR CHARITY***

Over 40 folk came across to Egilsay for the afternoon, the trip started with a visit to 'Howan' where the current owners kindly gave us permission to allow people to have a look around the restored building.

This proved to be of great interest and the restoration from what was once a derelict to a comfortable traditional home was impressive.

Soup, savouries and homebakes were served at the community hall followed by a splendid talk from Brian Alexander  (Tingwall Office). Egilsay may be small but it has a big part in history and many people have family connections here including Brian.

Brians family anecdotes and knowledge of Orkney history made for an interesting and very enjoyable talk. The round of applause showed how much people had enjoyed this.

A raffle followed and over £300 raised in donations of which Over £200 was presented to RNLI and £110 to The SMILE TRAIN UK charity.

 MANY THANKS

to all who came we hope to welcome you again in the future.

to all who cooked, contributed and helped out on the day.

and of course to Howan
