Orkney now has 7 new Level 1 Kayak Coaches.

Our Local Coaching Officer Kristian Cooper organised the coaching course on Orkney over two September weekends with Inverness instructors Steve Mackinnon and John Huxtable.

Successful candidates were Clair Dewar, Neil Laughton, Kate Laughton and Kye Valonga from KKC and Mary Saunders, Lesley Mackay and Katy from OSKA.

KKC pool sessions start Tuesday 10 November 8.30 - 10 pm at Kirkwall Swimming Pool when our large junior membership will really benefit from the coaching we can now provide.

This course was part funded by the Scottish Canoe Association and with money awarded to KKC by Awards for All.
