The biographies of Sapper Norman Linklater and his stepfather A.B. James Linklater have been added to the Kirkwall page of the website Memorials section, which can be accessed using the link below.  Both died as the result of service during World War 2, but their family left Orkney five years before the WW2 names were added in two panels to the Kirkwall War Memorial in 1953.  Kirkwall Royal British Legion supports the request of Norman's younger brother, Brian Linklater who lives in Amersham, Bucks, to add the names of his brother and father to the Kirkwall War Memorial.
