After a struggle by veterans and their supporters (including the Russian Government and businessmen) lasting decades, the UK Government last week announced the award of a new campaign medal, the Arctic Star, to British veterans of the World War 2 Arctic Convoys.  The few remaining Arctic Convoy veterans, but also the next-of-kin of those deceased, can apply to the MoD for the medal using the link below.  It can also be used by veterans of Bomber Command or their NoK to apply for a new Bomber Command clasp, to be worn on the ribbon of the 1939 to 1945 Star.
