New World War 2 portrait photos have been added to the Kirkwall section of the website: those of two Windwick brothers who lived in the town.  Norman Windwick provided the photo of his father, Eric Windwick, who served 9 years in the Royal Air Force from 1936 to 1945.  Norman is sending for his father's RAF service record, to get more details about his service as an airman cook in Lincolnshire and warrant officer in India.  Orcadian Brian Linklater, who now lives in Amersham, Bucks, provided the photo of Norman's uncle, John Windwick, who served in the Merchant Navy during the war.  The main Kirkwall page of the website can be seen using the link below.
