A photo of Colin Leslie, who was killed by a booby trap bomb while serving in Northern Ireland with the Gordon Highlanders in 1972, can be seen using the link below.  It was provided by his brother Bobby, with another of Colin added to a new Post WW2 photo section on the Kirkwall page of the website.  The Burray page also includes a Post WW2 photo section, with nine photos collected from local residents by George Esson.  The website invites veterans or their families to submit period photos (preferably in uniform) of other Orcadians who served in the UK armed forces (including overseas Merchant Navy) to add to the photo record of the post war period.  Any photos sent by post will be scanned and returned.
