The website's Battlefield Casualties section has lists of the nearly 400 Orcadians who died in the great battles and campaigns of the Great War.  However, there is also a list of 49 Orcadians who died during "routine" trench warfare on the Western Front: daily attrition from shell-fire, in trench raids or minor offensives.  The story of one of these soldiers, Peter Fotheringhame, has been added as a Word document to the website Sanday section, or can be downloaded direct as a pdf using the link below.
