The Germans used chlorine gas for the second time at Ypres on 24th April 1915, when it was released at St. Julien on the front of the 15th Battalion of 1st Canadian Division.  One of the 650 soldiers of 15th Battalion who were posted missing then was Thomas Anderson, of Orphir and Toronto.  His death was not confirmed until nearly a year later.  A biography of Thomas, based mainly on his digitized service record and 15th Battalion War Diary now available online, has been added as a Word document to the Orphir section of the website, or can be downloaded as a pdf using the link below.  Eight new Great War portrait photos, with text descriptions, have also been added to the Orphir website section this month.
