There were no Orcadian deaths on Gallipoli during the months of October and November 1915, but four Orcadians died there in December.  On the 5th, Australian soldier James Dick was killed in action, just over two months after his brother Richard was killed in the Battle of Loos.  On 10th December New Zealand soldier John Kirkness died suddenly of sickness, after exactly a month's service on the Gallipoli peninsula.  A Word document biography of John Kirkness has been added tonight to the Sandwick section of the website, while it can be downloaded direct as a pdf using the link below.
