Today is the centenary of the death in France of Orcadian James Burnett.  Jim was born in Sanday, but grew up in Stenness.  The late Margaret Watters provided some information about Jim some years ago, but no photo of him was available.  Jim's great niece, Sheena Taylor, who lives in Aberdeenshire but hopes to return to Orkney soon, has now provided a good photo of Jim in uniform to complete the biography which has been added as a pdf to the Stenness section of the website, or can be downloaded direct using the link below.
