Music group report-
WE met for August"s meeting on Monday the 7th in Orphir-and our theme chosen by Angela was " Harp"-
Some of us knew more and a couple play it-I knew little -so it was a learning time for me-
Our listening was divided between music written for it and music
arranged for it-
Two of our members are learning the harp-we hope for " Live " harp music one of these days!
I list a selection of uour choices-
Rodrigo-( Concerto for harp and guitar),
a few items by Turlough O " Carolan-( 1670 -1738) -Hildegard von Bingen( canticles of Ecstasy,accompanied by Harp),
American folk music accompanied by Auto harp,
Debusy( Dance Profane)
The Pearl Fishers,Motzart( Flute and Harp concerto),
Bryn Terfel (singing David of the White Rock,)
Catlin Finch and Seckou Keita-(llongau Terou -bi)
Welsh harp and Kora-
Our next meeting is on the 4th September-in Orphir and Glenys has chosen the Oboe as our theme-
at 10 -30 a.m.
