U3A Walking Group - 29 October 2021
by David Appleton - 16:09 on 29 October 2021
When the Leader had finally managed to get his brain woken up ,thirteen of us set off from the slipway at Newark for a circular walk .Under a grey sky but with little wind we walked along the sandy shore where the tide was half out .Then along the track towards the Point where there were quite a few Wigeon to be seen .Turning up the road over the hill we stopped to catch our breath .Then along and to the left past Mabel's house .She was in her green house tending her beautiful flowering plants . One of the group gave her a quick hand with spraying the hard to get at greenfly while the rest of us hoped we would be as fit as she is when we got to her age . Then back down to the shore and the car park .Amazingly the threatened rain had kept off and did so while we had refreshments at the picnic table plus some lovely flap jacks provided by Sally . A good 4 mile meander with lots of good blether .
The next walk will be on Thursday 18th November .A time and place will be sent nearer the time .
Keep moving , Tim
