U3A Walking Group - 9 December 2021

by Tim Wright - 18:53 on 09 December 2021

Twelve U3A members plus one old friend from Lands End met at the Point of Ness on a calm morning. Initial mist and drizzle cleared immediately and we set off for Warbeth Beach along the cliff walk. There were lots of birds to be seen on the rocks including 50 or so Purple Sandpipers.

After stop at Warbeth Beach to collect our breath we headed up to the Gun View point. A quick photo opportunity was taken as the view was good and clear. Then it was back to the Ness through the campsite.

After the disappointment of the two previous walks due to weather issues, it was nice to get out cover 3 1/2 miles on a fine Winter morning with plenty of chat.

The next walk will be Friday 14th January, details and reminder nearer the day when we have an idea of the forecast.

Happy Christmas and keep moving, Tim.
