Main Event bands

The Broken Ravens (Gordon Smith, Derek Healey, John Ferguson, Calum MacAulay, Kevin Clark) are a five-piece hard rock/heavy metal band formed in 2013. Born and raised on the wild and captivating group of rugged Scottish islands known as the Outer Hebrides. Their sweat and beer soaked fireball of fuzz sound has captivated audiences from all over the world, gaining not only a solid, but loyal fan base. “A HEADBANGING, FOOT STOMPING, RIP ROARING, FIREBALL OF FUZZ"

What can you say about Ten Tonne Dozer (Dave Kok, Jaimie Duncan, Jamie Dalziel, Dean Williamson, Barrie Scobie) that hasn't already been said? An Orkney favourite, these Shetland (and Tasmania) lads are back at the Main Event with their gutsy heavy groove metal sounds and amazing stage presence. Ten Tonne Dozer are well toured and have played numerous gigs and festivals dozering their way throughout the UK and the continent, with their live shows choc full of gut busting tunes and performing like crazed men possessed, except for shred-master Jamie Duncan who is like the eye of the hurricane during the madness. What an awe inspiring mix of blood, sweat, broken strings, and sheep skulls. The band also won the 2012 Scottish Alternative Music Awards "Best Metal" category and were joint-winners of the 2012 Fudge Award "Best International Act".

Battalion Of Flies (Chris Gillon, Zak Costello, Tony Noble, Craig Costello) are a Grunge/Alt Rock band based in Edinburgh, Scotland. Formed in 2003 by Chris Gillon, the band has been going from strength to strength culminating in their most recent single release 'Gorilla Suit'. Except some Alice In Chains/Soundgarden/Stone Temple Pilots vibes!

Deep Roots Last- John Dearness has been writing and recording songs incorporating early blues, rock, country, and folk influences. '12 in slate' is John’s second album, a stripped back earthy blend of guitar, atmospheric drums, fiddle and a clear vocal telling the story. He hopes you enjoy '12 in slate' in its first outing following its release on the 1st of September. He is very much looking forward to performing it alongside Douglas Montgomery (who also features on the album) and the rock festival's own Fraser Retson on the blues harp.

Greater Than Fear (Toby Michaels, Will Crawford, Murdo Mcarthur, Frank Haymer, Ken Millen) are back in Orkney after a very successful visit in April, returning to bring their hard-hitting, high octane, hard rock which wowed the crowds of the Auld Motorhoose. With influences ranging as wide as Lamb of God to Seether, Megadeth to Meat Loaf, System of a Down and so much more. This wide scope of influence gives them one of the most unique sounds in Hard Rock/Metal today.

Shipyard Riot are a five-piece rock band (Taylor Pirie, Robert (Birdy) Burgess, Aaron Peart, Liam Davie, Jonah Riddle) that hail from the Shetland Isles! Off the release of their latest singles, Crown and Four Leaf Clover, they're here to deliver thumping drum beats that cause your heart to explode, riffs that make you want to dance and it's all topped with gritty vocal harmonies that make you want to sing along. Volume at 100 for this quintet. You won't regret it!

Siamese Cat Twin are a 'scuzzy' Orcadian Alternative/Nu Metal band formed of Kevin Johnston, Erik Bews, Edie Wootton and Lee Taylor. Starting as a solo project in 2019 then quickly expanding, with a sound heavily inspired by everything from the year 2002. Expect plenty of nasty riffs, headbanging and screaming.. And a new album titled ':(' coming out later this year!
