This weekend sees an exciting development for Orkney’s youngest footballers with the first of two planned Fun Fours Festivals for players up to 8 years (boys and girls born between 2006 and 2009) being held at the KGS this coming Sunday 17th May.  In this small sided version of the game the aim is to ensure young players get plenty of touches of the ball, develop their skills and play in a relaxed environment with no pressure to win.

Primary 1 and 2 teams should register at 12.30pm with games starting at 1pm and finishing at 2.30pm. Primary 3 and 4 teams should register at 2.30pm with play starting at 3pm and finishing at 4.30pm. There will be a charge of £1 per player to join the Festival. There must be a responsible coach/adult/parent in charge of each team, with teams consisting of 4 players and 2 substitutes. In terms of fixtures teams are just required to turn up and games will be arranged on the day. If teams turn up with more/less numbers they will be allocated to a team. The whole purpose of the Festival is to allow young players to play football in an environment free of competition. All budding young players are welcome to attend.
