The Fun Fours (Under 7's) and Super Fives (Under 9's) age groups started in 2015 and has grown steadily in numbers ever since. The Fun 4's and Super 5's is a great way to encourage younger boys and girls to experience football in a fun environment.
The indoor part of this younger age group kicks off at the Picky Arena on Saturday 10th November with an hour of football play fun for each of the younger players. This kicks off at 4pm for Primary 1's, 5pm for Primary 2's, 6pm for the Primary 3's and 7pm for the Primary 4s'. There is a charge of £2 per child per session. Sessions will be held on one Saturday every month indoors at Picky over the Winter. In the Summer months a football festival will also be held outdoors once a month from May through to August.
The OYDG are indebted to Michael Swanney, who took on the role of developing the younger age groups and has given up so much of his own time to developing and promoting the Fun 4's and Super 5's concept locally. As a result of its popularity an increasing number of players are now participating in the younger age groups which will hopefully have a knock on effect on the number of footballers in the older age groups in future years.
