ARCHAEOLOGY BLOG – 11 June 2012

I have been looking a bit further at the possible places we might visit this summer. If any U3A member outwith the Archaeology Group is interested please feel free to let me know.

The dig at Noltland in Westray is on until the back of September so I was thinking that maybe a visit some time in August or perhaps early September might be best.

I'm happy to see if we can get a Ranger visit to the dig at the Ness of Brodgar if there's enough interest.  That will run from the 18 July to the 23 August.

On that, the OAS AGM is being held at the Stenness Community Centre on this coming Thursday (June 14) - all are welcome and Nick Card will be giving a talk on the work at the Ness after the AGM.

Could you please let me know one way or another about both a trip to Westray and when it might suit you best (if you've already replied thanks

Could you also say if you'd wish a trip to the Ness dig or whether you'd be happy to go on one of the normal tours?

Richard.
