BIRD WATCHING OCTOBER

by Tim Wright - 17:59 on 24 October 2012

Ten of us went on the Birdie Outing today in dry but overcast conditions. We started at the Doocot and saw a couple of Doos fly away .Then along the path to the grave yard by the Rendall shore. From there by road and cliff path to near Puldrite. Good views were obtained of Widgeon and Red Shanks amongst others. The star of the show was a Peregrine that flew up from the cliff in front of us leaving behind a plucking perch. We then went to the Loch by car as it was starting to rain.Apart from a Golden eye, the loch was remarkably quiet. And then back to the cars and lunch.
The next outing is in the hands of Liz and Ray .It will be at 10 am on November 21st at the Car Park in Burwick .
Regards,Tim
