News Of the U3A Scrabble Club -
We continue to meet in the Town Hall every Friday at 10 a.m.
For 1£ ,to cover hire of the room ,we usually have about three games per table-though some tables are quicker than others!
There is a coffee and tea machine in the room-
WE stopped having cake and biscuits for obvious reasons!
We invite everyone who likes a good challenge to join us-you could drop in casually for a game and try us out!
WE are of varying ability-some have played for many years ,others have restarted recently-
Among recently found new words-( well, new to some of us) are ----
Brank -iron mask for talkative women
Swage-hammering
Feen-Irish dialect for man
Sime-African sword
Lunt-produce smoke
Whid-to move quickly
Edh - character in Runic alphabet
Cully-to trick ,a pal
