U3A Walking Group - July 2018

by Tim Wright - 19:07 on 26 July 2018
Ten of us, including two visitors, made it to the top of the Rendal Hill and just beyond. The sun shone all the way and we were in shirt sleeves. The views were excellent if a little hazy but we could easily see the Brough of Birsay and the lighthouse there. Looking the other direction Gairsay was particularly conspicuous too. Going down we were treated to a walk around Barbara's neighbour's small wood planted over the last 14 years and thriving. Thence to Barbara's for coffee and cakes and more than enough to stoke up the blood sugars . Thank you very much Barbara for your hospitality.

The next walk will be FRIDAY 24 th August at 10 am and the initial plan is to continue on Marwick to the Brough of Birsay. The final decision will be taken nearer the time when we see what the weather has in store for the day.
