U3A Walking Group - September 2019

by Tim Wright - 19:17 on 12 September 2019

Seven intrepid souls set off to walk the Covenanters path in Deerness.

All was sunny as we got to the Memorial and found the graves on the shore. However, the clouds thickened and although it looked like we might be spared, the rain set in for most of the second half of the walk. A couple of birds cheered us up in a lull, a Stone Chat and a very healthy looking Wheatear fresh from Scandinavia perhaps. It looked just like one of the ones that I saw on the Falsbro peninsular in Sweden last week. Lunch was taken at Glues as Sheila Fleets was over run.

The next walk will be Friday 11th October, place and time to be decided. Hopefully we will have dried out by then.

Keep moving, Tim.
