U3A Walking Group - 5 May 2022

by Tim Wright - 21:08 on 05 May 2022

Eight intrepid people ignored the forecast of rain and set off to walk from Eastside back to the 4th Barrier. It was dry to start with and with the wind behind us good for walking. The remains of "The Irene" were viewed from the cliff. Arriving at Honeysgeo beach we had a rest and a snack while watching the Sand Martins going in and out of their nests. On the beach two seals were perched precariously on rocks with tail and head out of the water in a banana shape.

We carried on down past Margaret's house, where the drizzle restarted and along the dunes at the 4th Barrier carefully avoiding the Little Terns on the beach. Then back to the cars rather damp ready to return to Eastside after a very pleasant 4 mile walk with good company.

The next walk will be Friday May 27th. A time and place will be posted nearer the time.

Keep moving, Tim.
