Community Planning Partners

Membership of the Board comprises partners with a statutory duty to facilitate community planning, as listed in Schedule 1 of the Community Empowerment (Scotland) Act 2015 plus other bodies or individuals at the discretion of the Board.

Statutory facilitating partners in the Orkney Partnership are:

• Orkney Islands Council
• NHS Orkney
• Police Scotland
• Highlands and Islands Enterprise (HIE)
• Scottish Fire and Rescue Service

Local officers from these organisations with a statutory duty to participate in the Community Planning process were invited to join the Board*:

• Historic Environment Scotland (HES)
• Integration Joint Board for Health and Care (IJB)
• University of the Highlands and Islands, Orkney College (UHI)

• Skills Development Scotland (SDS)
• VisitScotland

As well as the Partners listed here as formal members of the Board, a number of other organisations play an important part in community planning as members of the Delivery Groups, for example Orkney Blide Trust and Age Concern - these examples show the wide range of service providers who contribute towards the process of community planning.
