Eday Partnership
In 2003 Eday was identified by the Scottish Executive’s Initiative-at-the-Edge programme as a socially and economically fragile area.
Given Eday’s small population and the high level of community-based activity a slightly different approach to the forming of a Development Trust was taken and, in 2004, Eday Partnership was formed. The structure is to have a board of directors formed by a nominated representative from each of the existing five community groups (see list below) and three elected members. This board of eight is designed to give a balanced input from all areas of the community, and is why the Development Trust took the name Eday Partnership. Eday Partnership is a Company Limited by Guarantee with Charitable status.
Through community consultation the Eday Development Plan 2004 was formatted and published, with an update in 2008 designed to take the community forward to 2013. For more information of work completed and progressing on Eday please see our projects section. Further consultation with the community is to take place in 2012 in preparation for releasing a new development plan for 2013 and beyond.
