A huge thank you to everyone who came along to the JW Gray & Co Tennent’s Kirkwall Open.
Organised by the committee of Kirkwall & District Darts League, there were 106 entries, with players from Shetland to the Scottish Borders (making an epic drive yet again) joining local players from here in Orkney.
In total £1080 was won in prize money, with Brian Moar (£500) retaining the title he won last year, this time beating Wayne Monkman (£200) 5-4 in the final. Brian had beaten Bruce Moar in the semi, while Wayne beat Ramsay Hogg in his semi final.
The £100 for the furthest lady went to Irene Thomson, with the £100 for the furthest KDDL B player going to Jamie Drever.
Thanks to Scott Burns Kirkwall manager from sponsor JW Gray & Co who came along for the event and prize presentation. Huge thanks to Gray’s and Tennent’s for the continued support and the bar staff of the Masonic for hosting us, including Mitzi for keeping us all fed throughout the day.
