IT'S getting very near to that time again, all the one-day shows are over so it's time to concentrate on the show which lasts from September to April - that's the 2009-10 season of the Kirkwall District Darts League. It gets underway with the AGM being held on Thursday, September 3 in the Royal British Legion Club at 8pm. A big turnout is hoped for, but before all that can take place team entries are required. Names to the secretary, Jim Scollie, by September 1. Also, all registration books are to be returned by the same date. Remember only four players are needed to form a team. Registration books are available from the secretary at 1 Somerville Square, Kirkwall. At present 11 books are out but a lot of last year's teams are still to enter and it looks like the Golf Club could be making a return after 14 years. And will the top two from last year once again go undefeated for the whole season? And how will Shapinsay perform in the 'A' League? Names of players willing to stand for committee duties during the season are required to the secretary by September 1.
