With both the Williamsons darts leagues getting near to the festive break both leagues appear to have divided into two parts as in both six teams have double points and also only one team in each league have 100 per cent records — the Legion in the ‘A’ and the Nomads in the ‘B’ — and the captains are father and son, Derek and Paul Firth.
The Legion kept up their high scoring by beating Shapinsay 9-3 and remain three points ahead of three teams.
The Golf Club are in second spot after a 10-2 defeat of Sanday.
The Commodores could be the one to watch after a very good 7-5 win over the Untouchables, the same score as the Wanderers over Quoyburray.
A good point for Quoyburray ‘B’ as they held Untouchables ‘A’ to a 6-6 draw.
Equal top score came from RBLM as they beat the Murray Arms 10-2.
Top score in the Williamson’s ‘B’ league came from league leaders the Nomads. They hammered Tankerness 10-2 but the big surprise came from the Deerness boys as they inflicted the first defeat of the Sands ‘2’ by 7-5.
Also there was a good win for Meadowbank 8-4 against the Bilco Boys.
St Ola are also up there with a narrow 7-5 defeat of the Shore.
Chasing hard are the Legion Arrows, 9-3 winners away to the Sands.
No score from the Motorhoose v Likely Lads.
There were 180s from Ian Wilkie, Freddy Tait, Robbie Stanger, Ian Eunson, Derek Firth, Keith Brumpton, Colin Barnett, Gary Harrold and two from Craig Taylor.
High checkouts included a 101 Keith Bain, 104 Neil Croy and Gordon Rendall, 105 John Thomson, 107 Derek Farmer, 109 Kevin Gray, 115 Wilfy Tulloch, 116 Ali Learmonth, 117 Derek Manson, 118 Martin Peace, 119 Ian Wilkie, 120 Colin Barnett, 128 Bruce Moar and 130 Ian Eunson.
