Messy Kirk

Messy Kirk is a monthly family gathering to eat, be creative and celebrate together.  We usually meet after school on the last Friday of the month, from 3.30pm to 5.00pm in Milestone Community Church.

Our aim is to offer a fresh expression of church, encountering God, singing and sharing food in a fun and caring environment.

There are Messy Churches across the world and we have been running since 2012. It is well attended by families and well run by very willing helpers.

Each month there is a different theme exploring a Bible story.  We usually introduce the story and eat a snack together before the children can explore four or five different activities to do with the theme.  Bairns can spend all their time at one activity or move around the different spaces.  There is normally a mixture of sport based, craft based and food based activities.  We then gather back together to consider what we've learned, and finish by singing and praying together.  It's a great fun way to learn more about God with friends from school.  

Bairns of all ages are welcome with activities tailored to different ages and older ones often help the younger ones.  We ask that all children are accompanied by an adult to help keep things safe and fun and grown ups often comment how much they enjoy sharing the learning with their children.
