What is the Orkney Woodland Project?
Orkney Woodland Project has been running in various forms since 1998 and is an Orkney-wide project which aims to involve the community in planting, caring for, learning about and enjoying our local trees and woodlands. The project has a part-time woodland adviser, currently funded by the Woodland Trust Scotland.
How can OWP help you?
Orkney Woodland Project’s advice and time is provided free to everyone including schools, community groups and individuals.
OWP can :
- give you advice on the best ways to choose a suitable site and to plant, establish and maintain trees, whether you are an individual, community group, or school
- give you updated information on current grants and draw up plans and applications for you
