24 June 2013Explore Eday The Friday Walk
This is the perfect option if you're on the mainland and only have a day to explore Eday
The usual walk is Eday Heritage Trail - a 5 mile walk over heather (taken at a gentle place) taking in Mill Loch, Setter Stone, Vinquoy Tomb, Red Head cliffs and Carrick House. Plus there's usually time for a visit to Eday's excellent Heritage Centre.
The ferry leaves Kirkwall at 1010 arriving on Eday at 1125. Jenny the Ranger will meet you at Eday Pier and provide a days worth of walking, wildlife, scenery, history and whatever else you can find.
Jenny will make sure you get back on that boat to Kirkwall at 1725.
There is no charge for ranger services although there is a fee for transport on the island.
The walks take place on the following dates:
12th July 2013
16th August 2013
23rd August 2013
Booking is essential - please phone Jenny the Ranger 07964149155 or email edayranger@hotmail.com to book your place
