THE biggest prize money in Orkney darts is up for grabs this weekend when the 2020 Tennent's Kirkwall Open Singles takes place.
The competition is run by Kirkwall and District Darts League (KDDL) and is open to all players over the age of 18.
The competition, which is now in its 12th year, continues to be highly popular, attracting players from around Orkney, and much further afield.
Regular participants travel to Orkney from as far apart as Shetland to the Scottish Borders, all looking forward to a great day of darts.
The event is sponsored by Tennent's and J. & W. Gray & Co, and is also supported by the venue, the Kirkwall Masonic Club, which is greatly appreciated by the organisers.
The winner will walk away with the top prize of £500, the runner-up wins £200.
There are also a number of other cash prizes, with the furthest progressing lady, and furthest progressing KDDL ‘B’ League player winning £100 each.
In total £1080 will be given away on the day.
Entry to the competition costs £5 and names must be in by 1.30pm sharp on the day.
There will also be the usual raffle and bottle stall, with bottle/prize donations welcome on the day. Meals will also be available throughout the day.
