Although not KDDL related, the first darts competition of the year in Kirkwall took place in the Legion on Friday in the form of the Legion Mens Singles for paid up members.

Usually a good way to shake off the post-festive blues, it only attracted 14 players this time out. Despite the low attendance, it was raining 180s on the night. Stevie Linklater hit 4 in total, with two coming in the final, but it wasn't quite enough as he lost out 3-1 to Brian Moar, who also pinned a 180 in the final.

The Legion Mens Doubles takes place Friday 13th night, open to all paid up members.

'B' league fixtures resume next week with the 'A' boys already up and running.
